Activated Charcoal for Valentines Day

Activated Charcoal for Valentine’s Day?

Happy “Day After” Valentine’s Day Everyone!

Rose are red, Violets are Blue, Activated Charcoal says “I love you”.

Yep. If your Valentine gave you some activated charcoal goodness for Valentine’s Day then they obviously really love you! Sure, it may not have been on the top of your wish list but roses are so 2016! If you have never come across activated charcoal before here is a reminder about all of the great things that activated charcoal can do for your body:

#1 In it’s pure form activated charcoal is an all natural ingredient free of chemicals and waste

#2 It has antibacterial and anti fungal properties

#3 It unclogs pores – activated charcoal is basically a magnet for the toxins that your skin soaks up from the air around you. It is able to get down deep into your skin and draw out the toxins leaving your pores feeling clean

#4 It balances oily skin – used in cleansers and masks, activated charcoal can pull out unwanted excess oils from your skin leaving it feeling smooth

#5 It gently exfoliates – has been purported to remove the oldest dead skin cells on the skin’s outermost surface

#6 It cleanses hair –  helps to deep clean hair, removing toxins and it is especially useful for those with medium to oily hair

#7 It reduces dandruff and heals scalp conditions

Maybe you got an activated charcoal face cleanser, face wash, beard shampoo (hopefully that was a Valentine’s gift to you gents, not you ladies!) or an exfoliator. Make the most of whatever activated charcoal gem your Valentine gave you. Embrace it and give it a go. Don’t put it at the back of your bathroom cupboard.

Welcome this new activated charcoal skincare or body care product into your wellness routine. It is the perfect time to brush up on some new ways to make your skincare routine a relaxing ritual (see C&Bs blog post about creating skincare rituals). You may just find that activated charcoal will be on your list of wishes next Valentine’s Day. C&B
